I was taking a look at the strides educators, policy makers, and parents want to see happen with school-age before and after-care programs. The 21st Century Grant (1998) and reauthorized (2002) is a federally funded/state distributed funding source for before and after-school programs. You really do not here a great deal about before and after-school funding. This grant is the only source of funding besides county vouchers or state quality rating system funding. This is an opportunity to provide assistance to children in the programs. The focuses are on school education and early-childhood education. Let's pay attention to before and after-school education. Homework in programs count! Other quality activities can happen in these programs as well!
